The Further Education (FE) unions in England (Unite, GMB, NEU, UCU, and UNISON) submitted their joint pay claim for 2023/24 to the Association of Colleges (AoC) on 17 March 2023. Negotiations started in April.

Our pay claim is ambitious and radical. It’s time for the AoC to show real leadership and engage proactively with college principles. It’s time for real action.

We’re calling for:

  • A Pay rise linked to inflation - RPI (13.4%) +2% on all pay points. 15.4% (January RPI + 2%).
  • Action on excessive workloads
  • A commission to start tackle climate change - a Green New Deal
  • All colleagues to be accredited and pay the foundation living wage
