Strike action planned by more than 180 Veolia workers at 22 household waste and recycling sites across Merseyside has been suspended following a revised pay offer.
Strike action scheduled to take place from Monday 2 January to Saturday 7 January has been postponed to allow workers to be balloted on the new offer.
If the offer is rejected strike action scheduled to last from Sunday 15 January until Saturday 21 January will take place.
Unite regional officer John McColl said: “Following fresh talks a further pay offer was made. The strikes scheduled to begin on Monday 2 January have been suspended while workers are balloted.”
