In September Unite secured a huge 31 per cent pay rise for HGV drivers employed by Wincanton on the North West England Argos contract. As well as the 31 per cent pay rise, Unite also negotiated a one off £2,500 lump sum.
Organising on the depot floor saw Unite drivers at Great Bear Distribution win an inflation busting 12 per cent pay rise and improved overtime rates for additional shifts.
Unite negotiated a deal to secure pay and conditions for warehouse workers with XPO on the East Midlands Gateway ‘Freeport’ project. This was the first major recognition agreement securing workers’ rights signed in one of the newly designated freeport zones.
