In launching the booklet ‘A New Social Europe’ David Martin MEP, Unite member and number one on labour’s list for Scotland said: "Labour’s policy on ‘A New Social Europe’ shows clear red water between us and the Tories. Whereas the Conservative Party would pull us out of the European Social Chapter, Labour wants to see more progress towards a fairer society. Scottish citizens want to see more progress towards a fairer society. A New Social Europe would achieve improved employment and better social protection for all. Only Labour, working with the trades unions and our fellow parties in every member state, can achieve this."
