Health sector - Unite NHS members staged
protests on 10 May 2012 after the emphatic rejection of
the pension proposals.
Ministry of Defence - Unite’s members in the
MoD and government departments were striking on Thursday 10
May against government attacks on their pensions, forcing them to
work longer and pay more to get less
Local authority sector - The LGPS TU Side met
on 24 February 2012 to discuss developments within the LGPS
negotiations. The team negotiating the new LGPS explained that it
was awaiting a response from government on new scheme proposals
formulated by the negotiating group. It was agreed that once the
negotiating group was in a position to report on the proposals that
a meeting will be held to brief all LGPS TU Side unions

Civil Service Pension Scheme - The Government
has published its final offer on the pension terms to apply in the
Civil Service from 2015, in the form of a ‘Proposed Final

The government is bringing forward a series
of proposals which threaten to greatly reduce the pension benefits
and increase their cost to members working in the public
services.
Unite has tried to negotiate a fair settlement with the
government but the government refuses to hear workers'
concerns.
