LLL in the North West region
The Unite Lifelong Learning department is closely
involved in all the Unite Regions. With the North West region
being one with a strong history of industry and innovation,
Union Learning Reps (ULRs) and members have the support of a
Regional Learning Organiser (RLO) team dedicated to improving
the skills and knowledge of all our members.
"ULRs are absolutely
central to the Unite campaign for Lifelong Learning. Indeed their
activities have been described as a 'quiet revolution' at
work. With new legislation giving ULRs statutory backing, including
paid time off for training and carrying out their duties, that
quiet revolution is moving on apace. Unite is determined to build
on this success by ensuring that ULRs have access to proper
training and support. And we will continue our efforts to work with
employers, government and other key partners to ensure that our
members have access to quality education & training."
Tom Beattie; Unite - Head of
Lifelong Learning.
