International

Introduction

It is recognised that the influences on the working lives of Unite members now extend far beyond the borders of the UK and Ireland.

Developments and decisions taken at an international level, often by multi-national companies, can have a serious impact on Unite and its members. Unite can no longer represent effectively the interests of its members, without being active on the international stage.
This section of the website illustrates the extent and variety of the international work Unite is engaged in.
World Cup 2010
This summer South Africa will host the FIFA World Cup, the largest international event on African soil ever.
ACTSA is using the opportunity of the World Cup to tell the story of southern Africa, the region's achievement since the end of apartheid and colonialism and the continuing challenges. We are also encouraging people to join in and help build solidarity with southern Africa through action, events and education.
This is a great opportunity to have fun and spread awareness of about the social and political situation in southern African countries.
