David Cameron has put politics before patients

7 September 2011

Commenting on the Health and Social Care bill being voted through the House of Commons on Wednesday 7th September, Len McCluskey, Unite general secretary, said: "David Cameron has put politics before patients. It has taken just over a year for the Tories to dismantle the most equal and cost effective health care system in the world.

"Competition will replace cooperation as private providers take over more and more NHS services. Profit will take precedence over patient care.

"It is now up to peers to save the NHS and ensure the views of the vast majority of the public, patients and health professionals are taken into account."
