Capita strike staff demand company returns to negotiation table

Unite members in Capita, Glasgow have declared their strike
action today a success and urged management to come back to the
negotiating table in order to avert further industrial action.
The finance staff staged the one day strike action in their
dispute with Capita over a pay offer of 1.5 per cent.
Rob MacGregor, Unite national officer, said: “Capita staff in
Glasgow have sent a clear message to their employer. Their strike
today shows the strength of feeling of the workers.
“Unite is calling on Capita to come back to the negotiating
table to find a settlement to ensure their staff get a fair pay
deal. The union wants to find a resolution to the dispute in order
to advert further strike action.”
Further strikes are planned for: Friday 31st July and Monday 3rd
August 2009.
The picket line is at: Bothell Street, Glasgow, G2 6UR.
Staff will be on the picket line outside the Capita office until
5pm Friday 10th July.
