Unite welcomes Ucatt delegates’ decision

Unite has welcomed the vote today (Wednesday 18 May) by delegates at the conference of construction union Ucatt to begin discussions on a transfer of engagements with Unite the union.
Len McCluskey, Unite general secretary, said: “We welcome this chance to work with Ucatt colleagues on building a powerful, united union for construction workers where we can combine our might and expertise to get the best deal for this workforce.” 

When negotiations are completed, Ucatt’s full membership will be balloted on the proposal.
