Unite the union at Labour party conference 2016, Liverpool

An active industrial strategy which supports British manufacturing, decent jobs and reconnecting communities battered by Conservative cuts are among the issues for Britain’s largest union, Unite at this year’s Labour party conference in Liverpool.

On the fringe Unite will once more be hosting the conference favourite Real Britain with the Daily Mirror at 12:30 on Sunday 25 September in meeting room 3A in Liverpool ACC. Titled ‘Reconnecting Britain’ and chaired by the Daily Mirror’s associate editor, Kevin Maguire, speakers include: Unite general secretary Len McCluskey, Real Britain columnist Ros Wynne-Jones, Andy Burnham MP, legendary 98 year old union activist Betty Tebbs, actress and disability rights activist Liz Carr and Dave Johns from the Ken Loach film, I, Daniel Blake.

Monday 26 September sees Unite general secretary, Len McCluskey move Unite’s composite on an active industrial strategy during the economy debate, while other highlights on the fringe include:

Sunday 25 September
