Unite statement on the London Bridge attack

Unite statement on the London Bridge attack

04 June 2017

Following the attacks at London Bridge last night, Unite general secretary Len McCluskey responded on behalf of the union: “We offer our condolences and thoughts to all those affected by the London Bridge horrors, and yet again are called upon to pledge all our gratitude to our fearless public servants.

“Last night evil was perpetrated on the people of London, but in responding we must take our lead from the people of London.

“They showed courage and solidarity while caught up in terrifying events, while the police and NHS staff rushing to save those under attack displayed their customary heroism, something we must never take for granted.

“They are a reminder us that we must never bow to those who wish to destroy our way of life and spread fear among our communities.  We will not be divided.”
