Media calling note for the Unite/CPHVA 2014 conference

The Community Practitioners’ and Health Visitors’ Association will be holding its annual professional conference, Public Health Nursing – Fit for the Future, next month.

This is a key date in the health conference calendar to which journalists are warmly welcome to attend.

WHEN: Wednesday 5 – Thursday 6 November 2014
WHERE: National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, B40 1NT

Speakers include:

  • Seema Malhotra MP, the first ever shadow Minister for Preventing Violence Against Women and Girls, will address the threat to women and girls in our society 
  • Unite assistant general secretary Gail Cartmail who will give the opening address 
  • CPHVA president and Guardian columnist Polly Toynbee will give the presidential address 
  • Nursing and Midwifery Council chief executive Jackie Smith will speak on what revalidation will mean and the recent registration fee increase
