Jobs, health, homes and hope on the agenda at Unite policy conference

02 June 2014

Unite Diary Note

What: Unite the union policy conference

When: Monday 30 June – Friday 4 July 2014

Where: Liverpool Arena Convention Centre, Kings Dock, L3 4FP

Over 1,000 delegates will be gathering in Liverpool for the policy conference of the UK and Ireland’s largest trade union Unite from Monday 30 June – Friday 4 July.

The conference, which is held every two years, comes against a backdrop of continued cuts by the Tory-led government, widening inequality and an economic recovery which is passing communities and ordinary people by.

Under the theme of jobs, health, homes and hope, delegates will be discussing a range of issues from action for a living wage and outlawing zero hour contracts, to rebalancing the economy and tackling the housing crisis.

Campaigning against the Tory-led government’s sell-off of the NHS and defending public services will also feature in the agenda along with key note speakers including Unite general secretary, Len McCluskey and TUC general secretary, Frances O’Grady.

The full agenda will be confirmed nearer the time but media wishing to attend the conference should email Martha Campbell for accreditation. View the event page.
