12 April 2016

Unite young members and members of Sheffield Unite Community gathered in Sheffield on 11 April 2016 for the Sheffield launch of the ‘Fight for 5’ campaign.

The ‘Fight for 5’ campaign calls for:

1.       A wage that people can live on

2.       Guaranteed hours each week

3.       Safe, secure work

4.       Training and career opportunities

5.       A collective voice and union representation.

Over 40 members attended the event, organised by Daragh O’Neill, and speakers included Anna Lavery and Charlotte Upton from Unite Young Members, John Coan, regional community coordinator, and Paul Strawbridge from Sheffield Labour Party.  Entertainment was provided by three local bands.
