Every year Unite reps from the NEYH Region take part in an exchange with Norwegian trade unionists. This year Unite will host the event at Wortley Hall, South Yorkshire.
The programme usually looks at comparing and contrasting industrial, political and economic systems of both countries and has traditionally been an invaluable chance for trade unionists to learn from each other and transplant good practice from one country to another. In the past we have looked at globalisation, organising youth in the workplace, union learning, membership of the EU, international solidarity and public sector models. It’s a chance to debate and discuss common issues as well as learn from each other how individual unions and activists challenge what goes on in their workplaces or communities.
Applications for the 2018 exchange have now closed.
