93.1 % strike vote from Unite members

07 May 2014

93.1 % of Unite members in the power control room of London Underground have voted for strike action.

Similar results are expected later this week from RMT and TSSA members.

The power control room technicians ensure that electricity, ‘the juice’ goes through the London Underground system and industrial action will progressively bring the entire network to a halt.

Unite is liaising with sister unions RMT and TSSA to coordinate action which could begin next week.

The dispute is over a catalogue of broken promises, worsening conditions and fractured continuity of service through bungled TUPE transfers.

Unite called upon London Underground to meet urgently otherwise the tube won’t be running at all.
