CPHVA regulation, revalidation and the NMC code - event report

Tuesday 04 February 2014 at 11:00-14:00

The NMC has launched a consultation on its model for revalidation and a review of the Code. What will the implications of revalidation be for health visitors and school nurses? What issues can you envisage? How does the current code relate to your practice? What changes would you like to see? You can see the NMC consultation website here

The Law Commission is also expected to release its final report of the review of the health care regulators legislation in the first quarter of this year. Could this mean changes to the specialist community public health nursing part of the register? What changes if any would you like to see? What impact might the review have on revalidation?

#CPHVAregulation event
As a member led body, CPHVA wanted to hear your views on these important issues. We held a membership consultation event on 4th February which linked together members in Belfast, Cardiff, Glasgow, London, Manchester, West Bromwich and online. You can see the agenda for the day here. You can also watch the presentation that Unite in Health professional officer Jane Beach delivered on the day here, or download the slides used here.

The debate continues
Although our consultation events have been completed, there are still lots of opportunities for you to get involved, inform our response and respond yourself to the consultation.
