Unite represents all workers and trainees in counselling and psychotherapy roles, including counsellors, high intensity therapists, family therapists, primary care graduate mental health workers, psychological wellbeing practitioners and psychotherapists.
You could be working within or outside of the NHS offering counselling related to oncology, genetics, unplanned pregnancy, anxiety, depression, relationship problems or addictions etc.
We aim to provide representation for counsellors and psychotherapists at all levels – local, regional and national – to ensure that the voice of the profession is heard.
Our Organising Professional Committees (OPCs) are designed to bring professionals together to promote the professional standing of counsellors and psychotherapists.
Our range of professional, legal and industrial services provides the representation and influence in the workplace that YOU need.
We have recently reconfigured our professional representation into organising professional committees which are networks in the regions. If you would like to become part of this, or if you are interested in becoming a workplace representative, please get in touch with your regional office and ask them to link you to the Regional Industrial Sector Committee.
