Unite backs the bill

Thanks to your support, the government suffered a crushing defeat on Friday (21 Nov) after MPs voted to roll back the privatisation of our NHS.

241 MPs voted to support Clive Efford’s private member’s bill with only 18 Tory MPs turning up to oppose.

Unite and the country’s leading health unions welcome the bill as a step in the right direction to ridding the NHS of most damaging aspects of the government’s pro-privatisation NHS reforms.
But the fight isn’t over. Clive Efford’s bill has shone a light on the huge threat now facing our NHS. Unite will continue to work side by side with health unions and the Labour Party to STOP David Cameron selling off our NHS piece by piece. There's more work to be done. Please check back regularly for campaign updates.

The next push will be to get the bill to the committee stage. Please keep sharing TULO's petition. Every signature we have puts pressure on the government to ACT.
