Unite have been notified of the death of Bill Harding who passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on 5th March.
Born in 1913, Bill spent all of his working life in the printing industry, apart from the war years.  Firstly in general printing, then for 36 years he worked in Fleet Street.

During his period in Fleet Street, he was FOC of both The Sun and News of the World machine chapels.  At the time of his retirement in 1985, he was the Imperial FOC of the News Group Newspapers joint chapels.

Bill also served 25 years consecutively on the London Machine Branch Committee of NATSOPA and 14 years as a NATSOPA Executive  Council member.

Bill was the only member to be awarded the NATSOPA Award of Merit and the SOGAT Gold Badge.
Following his retirement Bill was instrumental in setting up the first Retired Members Association in London in the printing industry and for a number of years served as Secretary.

Bill’s funeral will take place on Monday 18th March at 1.45pm at :
