Following a number of meetings with the Employers in relation to our wage claim for 2015 and Beyond, on Wednesday 21 May 2014 the Employers’ tabled their FINAL offer to your representatives, this being a two year settlement.
Initially the membership rejected the employers’ previous offer; your negotiators have since held further discussions with the representatives of ECA and SELECT.
The Employers have now confirmed that they have withdrawn the New Entrant Grade, along with the clause requiring a six-month lead-in period as per Rule 80 (B) (vii) of the Joint Industry Board, from their original offer.
Consequently, a meeting of your shop stewards and lay JIB representatives was re-convened on the 23rd September 2014, the outcome being, that your representatives unanimously have agreed to recommend the revised ‘Pay & Condition offer for 2015 and Beyond be ACCEPTED, and we now seek your cooperation and support by completing the consultative ballot paper.
The ballot closes on Thursday 16th October 2014.
