Unite has launched its new 50p per week community membership scheme which is open to all who are not in paid employment. Unite is offering community members a collective way to find their voice and shape their local community through local grass-roots campaigning.
Regional Community and Unite in Schools Wales
Unite is looking to recruit a Regional Community and Unite in Schools Coordinator to roll out the union's community membership scheme in Wales. The role involves identifying, supporting and developing community activists and self-sustaining community groups for issue based campaigning and the wider advancement of trade union values and social justice. The role will extend links between the union's working and community members. The role project manages Unite in Schools to promote trade unionism to school children aged 15 to 18.
The position is a full- time fixed term contract ending 31 July 2016.
Salary: £34,485 per annum
The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, be able to work within disadvantaged communities and have experience of trade unionism and grass roots community activism and have excellent organisational skills.
