Burton's at Moreton
The factory closure is a betrayal. Burton’s agreement guaranteed
jobs until 2012 – a deal won in 2007 by workers, the community and
their union. This needless closure will destroy jobs and
livelihoods - Burton’s is one on the last major employers in
Wallasey.
All Burton's workers want a future with this company and are
determined to fight back against the closure.
You can help fight for a future for Burton’s workforce, please

Campaign launch
Burton’s biscuit workers hit the streets of Wirral to urge local
people – help us save our jobs
5 February 2011
Saturday’s atrocious weather did
not deter Burton’s biscuit factory workers and their families from
coming together to launch their fight to save 342 jobs at
Moreton.
The campaign has already won the support of Unite former general
secretary, Tony Woodley and Wallasey MP, Angela Eagle who vowed to
help the workforce in their battle to save hundreds of jobs at the
campaign launch held at the Leasowe Castle Hotel.
On the day workers took to the road in an open top “Biscuit
Battle Bus” stopping at the Moreton factory before travelling to
the local shopping areas to encourage local people to sign up to
the campaign that urges Burton’s to honour their agreement and not
destroy 342 local jobs.
