Arguing for the alternative

Unite is at the forefront of the fight for an alternative and is committed to opposing the ideologically driven assault on the UK's much valued public services and welfare state.

This assault on ordinary people is designed to shift the blame for the economic crisis to the public sector and make working people pay for a crisis not of our making but caused by the negligent and irresponsible behaviour of financial institutions, gambling for profits in an unregulated market for financial products.

Unite is calling on all members to take this fight into the workplace and their communities, it’s time to argue for change, it’s time to argue for the alternative.
