Join the People’s Assembly national demonstration at the
Tory party conference, Birmingham
Assemble 11:30am at
Victoria Square, Birmingham, B1 1BD
The UK faces insecure employment, low pay, and a drive to privatise public services. There’s a growing housing crisis, the NHS is going through the biggest funding squeeze since its foundation, and the education system is overstretched. Local services have been shut down as huge budget cuts are forced on councils.
Big business, corporations and the richest are squirrelling away money in offshore tax havens, awarding themselves bonuses, while immigrants are blamed for problems they had no hand in creating. And everyone else is told to tighten their belts. This is ‘Austerity Britain’ under the Tory government.
There is an alternative - investment in public services, in infrastructure, and in decent jobs for all. As the Tory party descends on Birmingham to hold its annual conference the People’s Assembly will too, in tens of thousands, and demand the alternative to austerity.
Put the date in your diary & join the national demonstration!

March from Victoria Square to Birmingham City University Park (approx 0.7miles)
Coach drop off and pick up information
For people travelling to the march and rally on Sunday 2 October in Birmingham by coach please be aware of the following information. Access into the city centre is difficult and therefore a plan has been put into place with West Midlands Police along the lines used for football matches in the city.
Coaches should head for the Dartmouth Circus roundabout. This roundabout is over the top of the A38 Aston Express Way (a large Matalan is on the roundabout). Postcode for the Matalan is B6 4LD. Coaches will be met by police motorbikes on Dartmouth Circus and coaches will be taken in groups to the drop off point on Newhall Street. From here people will access the march assembly point in Victoria Square via Colmore Row.
Once dropped off coaches will then head to Curzon Street which is adjacent to the rally point where people can join their coaches at the end of the rally. Please note that coaches may be double parked and it may take time for coaches to leave at the end of the rally.
