Save our black cabs

Following Unite's campaign the Manganese Bronze company is Coventry is to stay in business in the UK.

Thanks to all our members, London cabbies and supporters!

The meter is running on the future of the iconic black cab. Financial difficulties mean Britain's only black cab manufacturer, Manganese Bronze, could collapse and black cabs could even end up being manufactured abroad rather than as currently

in Coventry. The black cab is part of Britain's manufacturing heritage and part of our national fabric, but black cabs could disappear from Britain's roads. Sign the petition below and help Save our black cabs.

Unite is urging the administrators managing the sale of the company's assets - Price Waterhouse Coopers - to ensure that any potential buyer commits to manufacturing black cabs in the UK. It is unthinkable that the historic black cab could be built anywhere else but in the UK. Unite, representing the laid-off workers and also cab drivers, is campaigning to save the black cab and to keep building them in Coventry. The workers and the cabbies need your support. Join us in urging PWC and any potential buyer to keep cab manufacturing in Coventry and the black cab on the road.
